The long awaited Persona Doll training for rural teachers in the Centocow area took place on the 18th and 19th April. The teachers met at the Centocow Mission and were thrilled to each have their own Persona Doll to use in practice with their children in Pre-school.
The teachers enjoyed working in small groups to develop the personas for their dolls. They learnt that it was a fun way to teach and learn and to prompt even the shy children to ‘open their mouths and share their experiences’
The training will make a difference to the social and emotional welfare of these vulnerable children in this area where all the families have been affected by death and illness through HIV/Aids.
